Ways to Celebrate Baby's First Christmas

Charlotte was one busy girl in December. Even though she is just five months old and has no idea what all this Christmas talk is, I wanted her very first Christmas to be special. Here are all the things we did to celebrate Christmas with her.

1. Christmas Sensory Bottles: I put a strand of battery operated lights and some jingle bells inside a Talenti jar. She watched it, touched it, listened to the bells, and rolled it around. I also tied some jingle bells to a wooden teether using ribbon - which she only used when I was there in case it untied.
2. Took Family Christmas Photos: I enlisted the help of a friend to take photos for us.

3. Wear Christmas outfits & pajamas.

4. Read a lot of Christmas books. We kept a wooden crate full of Christmas books under our tree to read.

5. Make Christmas crafts: We used finger paint and pressed her foot onto a canvas to make a wreath. It was messy and fun. Now we can put out her wreath out every year and remember how tiny her foot was.

6. Christmas Lovey: I made her a Christmas blanket and we played with a stuffed elf. The blanket was super simple. One yard of printed fabric and one yard of red flannel. I simply sewed the two together.
7. Listen to a lot of Christmas music!
8. We put up the Christmas tree with her and often took her up to the tree to look and feel it.
