This was Charlotte's very first Christmas! It could have been easy to go overboard but I stayed practical. I put items on her list that a 6 month+ would need. Every year Steve and I make our Christmas lists on Amazon to give to my mom. This is very convenient since we can add to it all year as we think of things. We can also give the lists to other family members that ask. This year Charlotte joined our tradition and she had her very own Amazon Christmas list.
When choosing toys I used the article
The Best Toys for Babies Don't Do Anything by Magda Gerber as a starting place. Then I thought about some upcoming developmental milestones, for example eating solid food, and added things we might need. I also used her favorite toys/materials at school as inspiration. This is what we put on Charlotte's first Christmas list.

- Munchkin Latch Stage 2 Nipple, 3 Plus Months, 2 Count - She doesn't get bottles too often, but lately I noticed her stage 1 nipples on her Latch bottles were a little too slow. I added these to her list so we can upgrade her bottles.
- Bright Starts Lots of Links Accessory Toy - These can be used for so many things. She likes to chew on them, shake them when hooked together, and we use these to attach a toy or teether to her car seat.
- Kiddobloom Kids Stainless Steel Utensil Set - In a few weeks we will begin to introduce solid foods to her. We're going with the Baby Led Weaning approach. I want her to have some authentic utensils just to experience. We don't expect her to use them just yet, but they will be here when she can.
- Bumkins 3 Pack Waterproof SuperBib - When she starts eating food these will definitely be necessary!
- Smart Bottoms Smart Organic All-in-one Cloth Diaper - I am always wanting to add to our cloth diaper stash. I like trying out different brands and styles to see what we like. Christmas is a good time to get some extra diapers!
- WaterWipes - Before using Water Wipes we used Pampers and Huggies brands. They did the job, but I didn't like all the chemicals found in the wipes. They were also a little rough and dried out quickly. My mom bought us two boxes of Water Wipes from a Zulily deal and I love them. They get the job done well and natural. They are worth the extra money.
- Hauck Alpha Chair - I picked out this high chair because it is made of wood which blends in nicely with our furniture, it slides right up to the table so she can eat with us, and it converts as she grows.
- Infantino Textured Multi Ball Set - These are great for chewing on, holding, and rolling.
- B. Skipping Stones Toy - I like this set because some of the rings are hard and some are squishy. I also like the irregular shapes of the rings. They are easy for her to hold and eventually stack.
- Tummy Time Playboard + Art Cards - At her school she has a large mirror that she loves laying next to. I had a difficult time finding a small shatterproof mirror for babies that wasn't covered in bright colors and graphics. This set is perfect. It has a mirror on one side and high contrast cards for her to look at. She gets so excited when this comes out. I like that it folds up and can easily be put away.
Charlotte's grandparents and aunts gave her gifts off this list and they also gifted her some great blocks, grasping toys, and sorters. She is one lucky girl!
